My Self-Summary

First Druid and (now former) Chancellor of the Springtide Clan. My rank seems to be a joke upon my Jack-of-all-Trades nature. If you have a skill you're interested in, it is likely I have dabbled in it, if not mastered it. And if not, I can always learn. Don't let my age deceive you, I'm still a quick study. Interested in playing the game, but in no rush. I've not fallen through worlds before, I plan to enjoy my time before Myddvai calls me back.

Sherwood's Suite is located on the Ace & Jack level floor. He has no door, having removed it entirely. His room is always open to visitors, regardless of his being around or not. The space is mostly a large, single space with all his amenities. The only separated out room is his private bathroom, which he keeps locked.

Of note, he has a wood burning hearth with various, rudimentary cooking supplies. There are multiple, large desks with various scrolls, journals, and books strewn about. Bookshelves and storage cabinets line many of the walls. Painted artwork, tapestries, and drawings are also haphazardly about the space. He has a low, wide, and plush bed cot tucked in a far back corner. It had a curtain which can be pulled around to give some privacy, but he won't be found sleeping in it.

Nero, then. I am Sherwood, it is a pleasure to meet you in person, [he would offer a handshake if his gloves were not still sticky with blood. Sherwood moves away from the butcher block table he has the ingredients laid out on so Nero can have space to work. There's a farmhouse style sink not far off that Sherwood only has a brief moment of confusion using. Plumbing isn't exactly common on Myddvai, but he's learning quick how more modern ammenities function.

He washes his gloves still on his hands, not willing to take them off,]

Make what you like, I would be honored to give it a try. [it won't be too different from what Sherwood is used to, but even if it was, he's open to novel experiences. Has to be or this place might overwhelm him with a sheer onslaught of them!]

[ There's some plumbing and some kinds of powered items at home, but the batteries that they take are wizards, so he has to wonder what's powering this place.]

[ That's just what people say. He checks on the fireplace, and the pot there, pulls out the vegetables and starts washing them off before beginning to chop them up. ]

It's a stew with some herbs, spices and vegetables for flavor. You've already got the meat prepped.

[Sherwood jokes lightly before shaking out his wet, if cleaned up, gloves and moving away from Nero so he can use the sink. The counter space is all his, Sherwood moving around to the other side to lean forward and watch Nero do his craft.]

Now, I must ask. As a rank two, what are you accommodations like? I heard the lowest ranks have quite the meager lifestyle offerings, but nobody is going hungry. Is that the truth?

[ It's so obvious he's had years to hone this aspect of his craft. He wasn't called the chef of blood for no reason way back when, even if he'd rather nobody know that about him these days. ]

The room's barely big enough for me to lay down in.

Don't think about how much he's been banging his... whatever Bradley is. Don't think about it. Even if he tells himself that, the blush rises to his cheeks anyway. ]

I see. A true disparity between upper and lower ranks. As is the nature of society no matter what world it is, I do suppose.

[Sherwood doesn't really have proper cutting knives because That's Illegal, but he did steal scalpels of various sizes. They get the same job done, if a bit awkwardly compared to proper kitchenware.]

Good to hear your offer was not made out of any dire desperation. [if Sherwood is referring to Nero offering food, exchanging cards, or both is left intentionally unsaid]

[That is to say, he's a bit offended. Only a Jack? Not a King? Psh... He'll bide his time and see if moving up is worth the effort. Things are so different in this place, after all. Sherwood prefers to get a feeling for the rules before he really starts playing a game.]

It is rather extravagant for one many to enjoy all on his own. You are welcome up here any time you wish to cook, or merely stretch your wings out. I enjoy company.

If it's impressive, I won't be able to help but mourn not getting to have it every time you stop by. Still, you would be welcome without expectation. A mournful, old man can always be ignored.

Everywhere he goes he gets bullied by old men... At least this one actually looks like one, instead of the twins being creepy about it. ]

... When you say it like that, it seems real difficult to ignore you.

[ He adds the spices, and harder vegetables to the broth. ]

It is a bit difficult to ignore your host as a guest. [He just laughs again, resting his chin in the palm of a hand, arm propped up on the counter. Sorry, Nero, he goes right on in teasing.]

Aren't you quite cat-like, though! Wandering by looking for food and yet not wanting to be pet.

It's not the first time he's been compared to a cat and it likely won't be the last. ]

On that we do agree. Unfortunately, I have the luxury of not needing to collect cards to be comfortable and it seems you are less in luck. [which might sound like he's about to proposition Nero, but... that's not exactly his style. More subtly is Sherwood's way of forming connections, making sure people feel comfortable and trust in him. That's much more rewarding than crass, immediate pleasure can grant.]

If a welcome here to cook yourself meals eases that woe, then do not hesitate to visit. I won't reach to ruffle your fur, I do so vow it.

[ A promise is like a noose around a neck for a wizard, but he can't assume that's what's going on with Sherwood. Even if he definitely talks like old extremely old wizards tend to. ] I'll think about it.

[Sherwood fiddles with little gestures quite often, especially as he talks. Just kind of a fidgety guy. He takes his glasses off to smooth them clean with a rag from the table, casually sharing,]

You may end up preferring it, as I hear the cheaper food offerings are often spiked by heavy aphrodisiacs.

No, no, I would not be either. The priorities of this place are abundantly clear, if somehow still mysterious. To know what they want and yet not know the why is a great curiosity. [he rubs his nose a bit, leaving his glasses to rest on the table a moment, readjusting his eyes with a few heavy blinks,]

Do you believe this place is powered by the energy of intimate encounters? I can't think of why else they would be so persistent and focused on this one element, otherwise.

After-? Ha, after exchanging cards? No, I haven't noticed anything odd in that, either. Harvesting, let alone harnessing, that peculiar energy would certainly be a marvel and an accomplishment. I wonder if these shackles have much to with how the could do that...

["shackles" he says, lifting his watch. Watch is a strange term, one he definitely doesn't like. A man who likes attention, but the idea of ever present surveillance is not comforting... Sherwood does just believe that is what it's named after, "being watched"]

[Don't people usually have to be dead to get the energy from them? Then again, Nero doesn't know what happens when people die here and is extremely reluctant to find out.

He doesn't know where "watch" came from.]

These things? It's not like they come off.

[Which is something he doesn't understand either. What are these for? Trackers? But they can't leave this place either, so what's the truth?]

Indeed, I haven't found a way to remove mine, yet.

[Yet. Because of course that is a goal and something to experiment with.]

I do wonder if I turned very small if it would follow along with a shapeshift. Something to try when it would not be indecent to attempt.

[ He's seen wizards become cats and whatever else they feel like, but maybe he doesn't mean it in the same way? ]

That is one of the abilities we Druids have. I can transform in an animal which best represents the shape of my soul. In my case, a mantis. Other druids have a variety of forms, depending on their personalities.
